ASPEN INSTITUTE NAMES SHEILA LIRIO MARCELO AS 2012 HENRY CROWN FELLOW
Waltham, MA -- March 12, 2012 -- Care.com (http://www.care.com/), an online resource helping families connect and meet with quality local caregivers for children, adults & seniors, pets and home & lifestyle, today announced that Sheila Lirio Marcelo has been named to The Aspen Institute’s 2012 Class of Henry Crown Fellows.
The Henry Crown Fellowship is designed to engage the next generation of leaders in the challenge of community-spirited leadership. It brings together executives—most from the business world, all entrepreneurs, all under 45—who have already achieved conspicuous success in their chosen
fields and are at a point of inflection in their lives and careers. The two-year program comprises a structured series of four seminars and each Fellow will undertake an individual leadership project.
“This is the ideal moment for me to engage with the Aspen Institute and I’m honored to be part of such an esteemed group of accomplished professionals,” said Sheila Lirio Marcelo, Founder and CEO of Care.com “Its focus on leadership development offers the opportunity to enhance key skills as I expand my professional reach beyond U.S. borders; the Institute’s global perspective would inform my approach to how and why we expand our business into other markets and cultures; and no doubt, the Institute’s commitment to encouraging action promises to inspire me as I seek to become a voice on behalf of others.”
“We are delighted with this year’s class of Henry Crown Fellows,” said Peter Reiling, Executive Director of the program. “For society, they represent a potent force of talent, ready to focus their energies on some of the greatest challenges of our times. For them, they are embarking on a personal journey—a journey ‘from success to significance’—that will change their lives forever. I know. I’m a Henry Crown Fellow too.”
