Weston Public Transportation Forum January 28th
Invitation to discuss public transportation
An informational update on the Weston Public Transportation Committee’s findings from a town-wide transportation survey will be given on Monday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
The public is invited to discuss thoughts on additional services (such as commuter bus, shuttle to mass transit, and commuter rail schedule and choices), and consideration of a 2-tiered parking plan at the Kendall Green rail station.
If you use or have interest in Weston’s public transportation resources, you are encouraged to come, listen and participate!

Remember when the town tried to take the Kendall Green train station by eminent domain? Owner Elaine Noble put up a valiant fight and defeated that article at town meeting. But when she decided to sell and move to Florida, the town did nothing about buying it. Big mistake. That was about 35 parking spots, I believe.
I've been told by a friend on the transportation committee that this would not work any more because the new owner has put in a septic system. Hey, the Gifford School just bought the adjoining parcel on the Post Road and took out the septic system there. We could do the same at some future date if and when the station is for sale again.
My advice: pay the current owner a significant sum for the right of first refusal.
Also, paying to park at Kendall Green is a lousy idea, in my view. We want to encourage the use of public transportation, don't we?

I do not like the idea of a 2 story garage at Kendall. We don't have restaurants but we would put a 2-level garage in there? I also agree paying to park seems foolish. I think there needs to be additional options - such as a bus!
