Accident on Route 20 Sends Two to Hospital

Two drivers were sent to the hospital this morning after a car accident on Route 20.

Two drivers were sent to the hospital after a serious car accident on Route 20 by Gifford School at around 8:45 a.m. Friday morning.

 Weston Police Lt. John Lyons said a driver for a Gifford School van was attempting to exit the school's driveway when another driver, in a Honda CR-V, crashed into the van.

There were no students in the van at the time of the accident, said Lyons.

Both drivers suffered serious injuries. The van driver was sent to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the CR-V driver to Massachusetts General Hospital.

Traffic was backed up on both sides of Route 20 and onto Route 128 after the accident this morning.
