Five Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 10

Benefit dance at Weston High School, basketball games and have you done your V-Day shopping yet?

 

1. Morning meeting: The 128 Central Corridor Coalition will meet at 8:30 a.m. at Weston Town Hall.

2. Benefit dance: Weston High School is hosting an all-school dance to benefit Best Buddies, an organization that strives to enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. and will include musical entertainment by Rushin' Embassy. (Check Patch later this morning for WHS blogger Tanner Skenderian's post on the event.)

3. Basketball: High school basketball games today include freshman girls' basketball vs. Waltham High School, 4 p.m.; girls' junior varsity basketball vs. Waltham High School; 5:30 p.m.; girls' varsity basketball vs. Waltham High School, 7 p.m.; Freshman boys' basketball at Waltham High School, 617 Lexington St., Waltham, 4 p.m.; boys' junior varsity basketball at Waltham High School, 5:30 p.m.; and boys' varsity basketball at Waltham High School, 7 p.m.

4. Shop local for your valentine: Still have Valentine's Day shopping to do? Check our shopping guide--there's something for everyone and all of it is local.

5. Outside: Today should be sunny with a high near 48 and a chance of snow showers after 1 a.m.
