How Do I Get A CSA Share with Land's Sake Farm?
Several share sizes are available for the Weston farm.
Weston's Land's Sake Farm is currently accepting applications for its 2013 Community Supported Agriculture shares.
Land's Sake Farm offers five share options, ranging from an Extended Harvest Sharem, which combines a full Harvest Share and a Late Harvest Share to provide customers a full 20 weeks of produce beginning in June as well as a few weeks of "winter" vegetables to fill a Thanksgiving table, to "Back-to-School" shares that begin in September and end with the Late Harvest share pickups in December.
New in 2013, the farm is offering a half share option under its Harvest Share. This new option provides customers six to eight seasonal vegetables with each pickup and pickups run weekly from June 10 through Oct. 21. According to the website, this is ideal for two individuals or families of four who don't eat much produce.
At Land's Sake Farm, pickups are scheduled when the CSAs are purchased and the variety in each bundle is determined by the share purchased.
The share entitles shoppers to a wide variety of produce which included in 2012, for example, beets, lettuce, various herbs, kohlrabi, broccoli, green beans, various squash and much more. Check out examples here. With the exception of the Late Harvest share, each share option includes pick-your-own flowers and vegetables.
More information about the CSA program at Land's Sake Farm is available on the farm's website. Shares can be purchased online via the website and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, with prior customers getting the first opportunity to purchase a 2013 share beginning in mid-January.
