The Weston Police Dpartment is reaching out to thank residents for the hundreds of toys they gave this year for the Toys for Tots program.

It was, police say, Weston's most successful year of the program to date.

Det. Lt. Danny Maguire also provided this note:

This is the fourth year the Weston Police has participated in the Toys for Tots program, and it is also the most successful. Speaking on behalf of Sgt. David Tinglof, who coordinates the program through the Mass State Police and U.S. Marine Corps, we wish to thank all those who donated for such a worthy cause. Given the recent horrific events in the news I can think of nothing more satisfying and important right now than bringing some happiness into a child’s life and seeing a smile on their face.

We are still accepting donations right up to Christmas and any toys not delivered this year will be kept for next year’s drive.
