TELL US: Where is the Most Dangerous Intersection in Weston?
A reworking of Case's Corner got us wondering about the worst intersections in Weston.
There's been a lot of talk recently about improvements to the intersection of Wellesley Street and Newton Street, also known as Case's Corner.
And while we've breathed a sigh of relief a time or two after making it through Case's Corner, we are curious about what other sections turn your knuckles white while driving through Weston.
Where do you think is the most dangerous intersection in Weston? Feel free to take into account drivers, cyclists, pedestrians and any other person using using the intersection.

The intersection(s) around the First Parish stone church. Not only does it get backed up, but it is dangerous. One of the several challenges is if coming from Boston Post Road or School Street, and heading around the church toward Conant Road, there is not stop or yield sign. Cars have an assumed right of way coming from Boston Post Road from town center and heading onto Church Street. The problem with this is if you are not local or you are a teen driver, it is not apparent what to do here. Teens having to make split decisions looking for signage here, not knowing what to do is not a good mix. This is just outlining one of the problems at this tangled up area.

The intersection of Byron Rd and Oak Street is pretty dangerous too, especially when you go from Byron Rd to Oak street. The stone retaining wall and the trees block the view, making it difficult to see the cars on the oak street.

Golden Ball road and the Boston Post Road and Warren Avenue. Commuters race down the Boston Post Road from Route 20 while drivers try to exit both Golden Ball Road, which is used by route 20 traffic to avoid School Street lights, and Warren Avenue Warren Avenue is the Posted with a Stop sign, Golden Ball Road is not. Cannot begin to say how many accidents have occurred in this intersection over the years.

In agreement with Donald T. Fleming, my mother had a serious accident at that intersection a couple months ago! A Coca-Cola truck was coming down Golden Ball and didn't know to stop at Boston Post Road (?!), and plowed right in front of her! She had been heading toward Weston Center, and NOT speeding, but the impact was enough to total the car, deploy the airbags, and put her in the hospital. Thankfully, she got away with some serious bruises and a lot of pain, but no serious injuries! There is no stop sign on Golden Ball at that intersection, but really thing there should be!

I agree with Rachel. I've heard that referred to as the "urn of death." It is brutal during the early morning rush hour because anyone coming from Church St./Conant can't get across the intersection without taking their life in their hands. Sometimes only two cars can get across during one light change, as no one lets you get in.
