Weston Police Log, Feb. 7-14: Campsite Near Town Dump and a Case of Road Rage

Excerpts from the Weston Police dispatch. The following information was supplied by the Weston Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

 Featured call of the week:

Feb. 13: 9:39 a.m., Hitching Post Rd., suspicious activity. Police responded a call reporting what appeared a campsite near the town dump, with chairs, a tarp and various other items. No one was at the site when police arrived.

Tuesday, Feb. 7

10:25 a.m., larceny/forgery/fraud. Copper was stolen from behind Norumbega tower.

12:48 p.m., Boston Post Rd./Wellesley St.. road rage. A caller reported being cut off, then proceeded to follow the car that cut him off.

Wednesday, Feb. 8

11:48 a.m., Biogen Idec, 133 Boston Post Rd., larceny/forgery/fraud. A Biogen Idec employee reported a missing laptop.

3:45 p.m., 710 Wellesley St., animal complaint. A resident reported an abundance of deer on his property and asked police for statistics on Lyme disease.

Thursday, Feb. 9

10:13 a.m., 149 Beaver Rd., suspicious motor vehicle. Police could not locate the car in question.

3:31 p.m., Highland/Boston Post Rd., car accident with injuries. Police reported a multi-car accident in which one person was brought to Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

Friday, Feb. 10

8:50 a.m., 68 Lexington St., missing person. A call was made about a missing youth, who was later located at Weston High school.

10:53 a.m., 104 Oak St., suspicious person.

6:05 p.m., 175 Boston Post Rd/School St., car accident, no injuries.

Saturday, Feb. 11

7:23 p.m., Cherrybrook ball field, Cherrybrook Rd., brush fire.

Sunday, Feb. 12

12:25 a.m., suspicious person. Officers saw two youths dressed in all black who ran from the police, and were later located in their own backyard. No charges were made; police spoke with the homeowners.

12:59 a.m., South Ave./Pine St., arrest. Police arrested Roberto Paez, 43, of Framingham on a warrant arrest following a stop made for a broken taillight. On a license check, it was found Paez was driving with a suspended license.

Monday, Feb. 13

12:37 a.m., South Ave./Wellesley St., arrest. Police arrested Jwyanza Whiteman-Best, 31, of 1747 Dorchester Ave., Boston, on a default warrant charge.

9:39 a.m., Hitching Post Rd., suspicious activity (see "featured dispatch" above)

6:45 p.m., Summer St./Boston Post Rd., car accident with injuries.

Tuesday, Feb. 14

11:15 a.m., South Ave./River Rd., car accident, no injuries.

2:22 p.m., 680 South Ave., animal complaint.

10:32 p.m., School St./Boston Post Rd., erratic operation.
