Weston Town Caucus Scheduled for Monday
The caucus will choose nominees for the Town Election ballot.
The Weston Town Caucus is just four days away, according to an announcement from town officials.
Town Caucus is scheduled for Monday, March 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Town Hall. All registered voters are welcome to attend, the announcement said.
At the caucus, prospective candidates for town offices are nominated to be placed on the Annual Town Election ballot. The election is scheduled for Saturday, May 11.
"The two candidates for each open position receiving the largest number of votes at the Town Caucus are designated Caucus Nominees on the ballot," according to the announcement. Each nominee must receive a minimum of 8 percent of the votes cast.
Those wishing to run for office who aren't nominated by the Town Caucus can take out nomination papers from the Town Clerk’s office. At least 50 signatures of registered Weston voters are needed, and nomination papers must be filed with the Town Clerk no later than Monday, March 25, at 5 p.m., according to the announcement.
