What Caused Weston’s Lengthy Power Outage?

Weston was the slowest town to return to full power in Massachusetts. Why do you think this was?

Weston regained full power Friday, but was in the dark for almost all of last week.

Some have said the tall, old trees are to blame. Others say NSTAR was simply too slow, others still say the town was unprepared, and officials say communication was lacking.

What do you think caused Weston to stay in the dark for so long following Hurricane Sandy? Tell us in the comments.

The town is VERY slow to take down treees that are clearly dead and not marked and even those that are marked and they even refuse to allow residents to take down DEAD treees that are a danger to other residents. In additin the power companies should trim ALL trees back from ALL the power lines section by section.

The response and recovery time was shamefully slow. It took three days for one wire down on Concord Road to be restored? Other nearby communities experienced minimal power outages while we in Weston lost everything in our refrigerators/freezers. No power company trucks were visible for the entire outage.
