I would like to welcome you to the Metro West Wines blog. In the coming weeks, Between bits of news and information, I will be inviting you to come along with us as we get our business off the ground. Future columns will details our trials and tribulations, successes and failures as we build and grow our customer list. If you are a business owner, or you've thought at some point about starting your own business, you are welcome join us for what is sure to be a roller coaster ride -- potentially interesting, certainly humorous.

Metro West Wines and our website MetroWestWines.com is charting new territory. We are the first web only liquor mart in Massachusetts.  We pledge immediate delivery to Wellesley and Weston and have recently expanded our delivery area to portions of Natick. While our website is available 24x7, We are currently delivering Wednesday to Sunday. Entrepreneurs need time off too!

It’s been about six weeks since we launched our site and the feedback has been nothing short of phenomenal. The most common comments we get are: 1. This is fantastic, what took so long for someone to do this? (we’ve asked ourselves that same question) 2. Is this legal? (Yes, it is) 3. I live in <fill in town here>, When are you going to deliver to my town? (Soon, I hope)

As you might expect, the holidays are an extremely busy time for any liquor retailer and Metro West Wines has not been an exception to that rule. While we would have liked to have had a little time to shake down our technology and business processes, the timing just didn't work out that way. Trial by fire for us.
