Results from a recent executive survey ranked Massachusetts 47th for business.
A CEO magazine ranks Massachusetts as one of the worst states in the nation for business. Chief Executive Magazine ranked Massachusetts 47th based on a survey of corporate leaders. Survey respondents reported the Bay State is one of the worst for taxation and regulation. The state Republican Party is pointing to the survey and saying that Gov. Deval Patrick and the Democratic-led Legislature are bad for the economy and business. What do you think about Massachusetts’ business climate? Is this a good state in which to do business?

The special town meeting will be held on June 17.
A June 17 Special Town Meeting has been called to vote on the Old Library and Josiah Smith Tavern project. The meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. at Weston High School, according to the town website. Voters will cast ballots on three articles connected to the project. Article 27 - If approved, this zoning amendement would allow for a mixed use development to be built on the the Josiah Smith and Old Library sites. A 2/3 majority is required for passage. Article 28 - If approved, it would allow the town to sell the Old Library. The St. Demetrios Church has constructed a new 12,000-square-foot facility in Weston.
The St. Demetrios Church will hold a grand opening of its new Byzantine-style church sanctuary and chapel, according to a press release. I work for an MSS company and moved recently from the west coast. Been here about two years and I must say the lifestyle, education, business climate and environment are as good as anyone could ask for. MA seems to have weathered a significant recession pretty well. Streets are still swept, people are busy...Some feel the taxes and regulations are burdensome and I guess they move to NH? more ›
