What started as a spelling error in 1973 has evolved into one of the most successful bands to come out of Waltham. Playing more than 150 shows a year alongside acts like the Beach Boys, The Reminisants still know how to draw a crowd with their oldies tunes. Many of the band members have ties to Waltham or other Massachusetts Communities. Drummer Peter Veneto is from Milton and lives in Waltham. Bassist Mac Hayes is from Waltham and lives in Weston. Keyboardist Bob Spitaleri, lives in Peabody and hails from East Boston. Lead singer Mike Joyal lives in Marlboro, but is originally from Waltham. …
Editor's note: The written part of the article was submitted by Jane Shay. Weston High School students enjoyed an elegant prom Saturday night at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel. Attended by more than 300 juniors and seniors, the evening was the culmination of months of anticipation and excitement. After weeks of rain the weather even cooperated for a beautiful day allowing for outdoor pre-prom photos. Once at the hotel the beautiful venue was filled with a lot of buzz and laughter as the students ate and danced the night away! Were you there? Did you take any pictures? Add your photos…
In 2006, the Relay For Life of Weston-Wayland held its first relay. Friends, families, and local businesses joined students from Weston and Wayland to fight cancer. Over the past five years, this event has raised more than $327,000 for cancer research. Last year the students raised more than $50,000. 
Located in a suburb of Shanghai,  Zhujiajiaro is one of six water towns well known throughout the country and is probably the most famous. It was mostly built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Upon entering the factory showroom, we were escorted to a series of machines and stations that contained all of the various life-cycle stages of the silkworm so that you could easily understand the process. Inspecting a live silk worm spinning and viewing the stages of silk a development was a real eye opener. 
The Five-Dragon Wall subdivides one of the most beautiful gardens of China into six separate viewpoints, the Grand Rockery, Ten-Thousand-Flower Pavilion, Hall of Heralding Spring, Hall of Jade Magnificence, Inner Garden, and Lotus Pool.
Pooking around the back streets of Shanghai uncovered wet markets full of outdoor fruit, produce, fish and meat, back alleys and local shops. It was a great way to get acquainted with the city.

A displaced plug at the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) is being blamed for flooding Oak Street this morning, causing damage to an Oak Street basement and car. Check out Weston Patch's pictures from the scene on Thursday. 
Try to forget the still-remaining piles of dirty snow and focus on some gorgeous flower pictures, which Weston photographer Kenneth S. Barron dug out of his own photo archives.
Department of Public Works Director Robert Hoffman took the Board of Selectmen and other interested parties around the new DPW Building Tuesday night. During construction of the building, which now sits next to the police station on Boston Post Road Bypass, the departments in the DPW were scattered around town. But all will be under the same roof by Friday, said Hoffman.
Weston High School hosted a Special Olympics qualifying event for men's and women's basketball, ages 22 and older, last Saturday. Read more about the story here: Students Give Back With Special Olympics
