Katherine Clark on her way to DC!

State senator Katherine Clark spoke to an enthusiastic open meeting of the Waltham Democratic City Committee this evening. The Weston Democratic Town Committee was also invited, although I was the only one to attend.
I had supported another candidate in the primary, but I am now a Katherine Clark fan and I'm so glad I got to meet her in that perfect setting, a democratic meeting of regular Democrats, not some stuffy fundraiser.
Katherine spoke in favor of universal early childhood education, finding new ways to create jobs, protecting Social Security, Medicare, and our environment and against mandatory sentencing, gun violence and endless war.
She's a mother of three and a lawyer who has done some awesome things with her life already and is ready to do the same in our nation's dysfunctional Congress.
There will be a televised debate moderated by Jim Braude on NECN, on Dec. 6, I believe.  I shall look forward to it.
Someone cracked a very funny joke about how her opponent debated an empty chair, representing Katherine, on FOX TV recently, but lost the debate anyway.  (Sorry, dear Republican friends, but it sure was funny.)
The election is December 10, but we can vote now by absentee ballot at Town Hall.
