Sudbury Celebrates 375th Anniversary

SUDBURY’S 375TH ANNIVERSARY

September 4, 2014 is the 375th Anniversary date of Sudbury's incorporation. The Sudbury Celebrates 375 Committee has an exciting schedule of events throughout the 2014-year to mark this historic event. Two major events have been planned.

The first is an Olde Time Family Community Fair on Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. at Sudbury Town Center.  This will include many exciting activities such as a quilt exhibit, flower-arranging and judging, a time capsule, the judging of vegetables, jams, and baked goods, animals (such as various farm animals), games, square-dancing, music, a history scavenger hunt, a farmers’ market, and food and drink vendors. The day is inspired by the old Grange Fairs of years past.

The Committee is also pleased to announce the availability of a variety of souvenirs that feature the Sudbury Celebrates 375 logo. The logo is the winner of a logo contest conducted by the Committee last fall. It was designed by Sudbury native David Alderman and is based on the granite road markers found throughout the Town and region. The sale of the souvenirs is part of the fund-raising effort of the Committee in support of events of the celebration throughout 2014. The souvenirs include T-shirts, baseball caps, coffee mugs, car magnets and water bottles. All items are available for sale at Graphic Connections at 730 Boston Post Road, Bartlett's Family Garden and Market at 578 Boston Post Rd or by contacting Committee Member Joe Bausk at 978-443-8963. They will also be available at many of the upcoming Sudbury Celebrates 375 events. Please visit our website for images and pricing of souvenirs.
