Warcats Notch Two Wins in Weekday Action

After a grueling game Monday against Framingham where the Warcats earned a tie, the team played again Tuesday versus Boston Latin at their home rink opening a three game home stand at the MacDowell Arena. Wayland/Weston took a 1-0 lead after the first period as the teams appeared evenly matched, but in the second and third periods the Warcats found their legs and the back of the net scoring six goals and besting Boston Latin 7-1. Goals by Morgan Griffin (3), Nikki Gerjarusak (2), Gianna Fargnoli and Bella Pace. Assists to Lucy Harper (2), Gianna Fargnoli (2), Patty Atkinson, and Ainsley Gilbard, Lilly Poulin, Tamara Lord, Bella Pace, and Morgan Griffin.

On Thursday night Wayland/Weston defeated St.Joseph's Prep/Mt.Alvernia 7-0.  Goal scorers were Morgan Griffin (5),Patty Atkinson and Bella Pace. Assists to Gianna Fargnoli, Lilly Poulin, Nikki Gerjarusak, Ainsley Gilbard, Caroline Goguen and Morgan Griffin.   Goalie Libby Lichter made 20 saves and earned her first shutout of the season.

Wayland/Weston’s record now stands at 7-3-1.  They continue their  home stand Saturday night facing Algonquin/Hudson at 8:30PM.
