Weston Local Samantha Gordon Featured in Walnut Hill Production

Natick, MA – Samantha Gordon of Weston, MA will play the role of Ballet Girl in Walnut Hill School for the Arts’ winter production of Freckleface The Musical, based on Julianne Moore’s New York Times best-selling children’s book Freckleface Strawberry

Freckleface The Musical lets audiences experience the adventures of a spunky, red-haired and freckled young girl named Freckleface Strawberry and her friends as they learn to love the skin they’re in. With the help of her classmates and teacher, Freckleface learns to love her freckles and realizes that differences are what make each person special. This fun-filled musical, perfect for families with children in grades K-6, will be performed at 1:00 and 3:00pm on January 25 and January 26 in the Riggi Black Box at the Keiter Center for the Performing Arts at Walnut Hill (tickets $10).

This will be Gordon’s first role at Walnut Hill, though the junior theater major has plenty of stage experience under her belt. Some of her favorite roles include Kim MacAfee in Bye Bye Birdie at Weston Drama Workshop and Elle Woods in Legally Blonde at Wellesley Theater Project. Due to the well-rounded program at Walnut Hill, she has also had experience behind the scenes stage-managing this past fall’s production of Songs for a New World. In addition to her academic and arts classes, Gordon is a part of the Walnut Hill a capella group The Mixed Nuts and has trained in voice with Marha Vleck and dance with The Dance Academy at Siegal Productions.
