A Little Bit of Tranquility at Linwood Cemetery

The Thursday Patch Passport shows you a Little Bit of Tranquility. This is a local place you can use to take a break from the rush of modern life and reflect on what's really important.

Set quite back from the road, right off Boston Post Road Bypass, is the 35 acres at Linwood Cemetery. It's not the first place that springs to mind when one thinks of ways to relax, but with winding trails, plenty of trees and simply the hushed sounds of nature, the cemetary can be a quiet place of reflection and tranquility.

On a sunny day, walking around, it's hard to hear the sounds of traffic. Instead the chirps and songs of birds permeate the air, while the gravestones sit quietly by in eternal rest.

The oldest graves in the cemetery start in 1874 and continue onward.
