Get Out!: Riverfest, Concerts and More, June 10-12
It's the end of the week. You're bored. You want something to do. You've come to the right place.

Where/When: Wayland Town Beach, 25 Parkland Drive, Wayland, Friday, June 10, 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Why Go: The Wayland Children and Parents Association (WCPA) will host their annual beach concert and barbcue. You may purchase a barbecue dinner or bring your own picnic basket. Singer/songwriter Wayne Potash will perform, plus there will be free ice cream, face painting, and tattoos for the kids. Kids under 2 are free.

Where/When: Wayland Town Building, 41 Cochituate Road, Wayland, Saturday, June 11, and Sunday, June 12
Why Go: Riverfest is a celebration of the Sudbury, Assabet and Concord Wild and Scenic Rivers. Over 30 events in 11 towns are free and open to the public. In Wayland there will be a guided history paddle and a guided bird walk. Nearby there are fishing classes, boat trips, music and art events.

Where/When: Weston Town Recreation Department, 20 Alphabet Lane, Weston, Saturday, June 11, 1 to 4 p.m.
Why Go: Learn how to make the most of New England's fleeting native strawberries and enjoy them year-round! This 3-hour workshop will include a presentation of home canning and food safety procedures, a step-by-step overview of canning using the boiling water bath method, and a hands-on session making strawberry rhubarb jam from local produce. Each participant will be able to take home a jar of jam and a packet of information to get started canning at home. Register in advance.
Pricing: $25 for Land's Sake members, $35 for non-members

Where/When: Weston Town Green, Sunday, June 12, 11:30 a.m.
Why Go:
The annual Susan McDaniel Run for Love begins and ends at the Weston Town Green. This run is a USATF sanctioned 5K road race with professional timing and water stops at the two-mile marker. The schedule is:
- 11:15 a.m. - Diaper Dash - Free
- 11:30 a.m. - Kid’s 1/2 mile Fun Run - $10
- 12:00 p.m. - 5K Run/Walk Road Race - $20 pre-registration / $25 day of race
All proceeds benefit the Lovelane Special Needs Horseback Riding Program.

Where/When: The Acton Jazz Cafe, 452 Great Road, Acton, Saturday, June 11, 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Why Go: Come enjoy a meal or beverage while listening to Working For Scale, Acton’s own mixed-voice a cappella group.
Pricing: $10 online; $12 at the door
