UNICEF boxes

Elementary school students will receive UNICEF boxes today at school. According to the PTO, the students raised nearly $3,400. Boxes are due back to homeroom teachers or the main offices at the schools by Friday, Nov. 4.

Fifth Anniversary of Treats for the Troops

Elementary school students are also currently collecting candy, notes and artwork to send to troops serving abroad, for the fifth year of Treats for the Troops. Candy, note and artwork collection at Country, Woodland and Field schools starts next week, and teams will be assembling (volunteers needed) the boxes at the schools on Friday, Nov. 4, at 2:20 p.m. You can submit APO or FPO addresses of friends and family members serving overseas.

Class of '14 Haunted House

The class of 2014 holds the annual Haunted House at the high school on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. High school blogger . Admission is $7 for a tour and crafts, and there will also be refreshments for sale. This is not a drop-off event.

WCCA Halloween Parade

The Weston Community Children's Association holds its annual Halloween parade led by a fire truck, around the town green, on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 10:30 a.m. There will be light breakfast treats following the parade. Be sure to check the WCCA's website for weather updates, as the .

Spellman Museum Halloween Family Day

Visit the on Saturday, Oct. 29, from noon to 4 p.m., for stamp crafts with pumpkins, trick-or-treat bags and more. Show up in costume for the chance to win a stamp prize. You can also make your own envelopes to send Halloween greetings to your friends, with the museum picking pu the postage.

Halloween Magic Show

There will be a Spooky Goofy Halloween Magic Show, with magician Greg McAdams, on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 1 p.m., at the library. No sign-up is necessary.
