Krokidas & Bluestein Attorneys Kathryn Murphy and Maria Krokidas to be Honored at 2011 New England Women in Real Estate Achievement (NEWiRE) Awards Dinner

Weston resident honored.

Krokidas & Bluestein LLP, a Boston law firm, announced today that attorneys Maria Krokidas, of Weston, and Kathryn Cochrane Murphy will be honored at the 13th Annual NEWiRE Achievement Awards Dinner.  Murphy will receive the Leadership Award, and Krokidas will be honored with the 2011 Networking Award together with six other women for their collaboration on the Wilber School Apartments in Sharon, Mass. 

Murphy and Krokidas will be among 14 women feted by New England Women in Real Estate at a dinner event on April 6, 2011, at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. 

 “I am so honored to be recognized by my NEWiRE friends and colleagues with this award,” said Murphy.  “This is an organization that I helped to found and nurture, which makes receiving the Leadership Award particularly meaningful.”

Murphy has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial real estate law.  She represents for-profit and non-profit owners, developers, lenders and governmental agencies in acquisitions, development projects, leasing, and financing, and has drafted ordinances and legislation on behalf of public and quasi-public agencies and instrumentalities.

 “NEWiRE’s dedication to encouraging networking among women in the real estate industry is inspiring,” said Krokidas.  “The Wilber School Apartments project was collaboration in the truest sense of the word as each of the honorees brought a unique skill set to the table.”

Krokidas founded Krokidas & Bluestein LLP in 1979 and leads the firm’s transactional group.  She has over 35 years’ experience representing for-profit, non-profit and public entities in real estate, finance and corporate matters.  She has counseled numerous non-profit, for-profit and quasi-public authorities on all matters relating to corporate organization and operations including statutory and regulatory compliance and implementation.
