Trash Talk Tonight at Weston Public Library

Film about "stuff" to be followed by presentation on waste, recycling trends in Weston.

Trash talk. Tonight at Weston Public Library, it won't only be tolerated--it will be encouraged.

At 7 p.m., the Weston Climate Group is hosting a presentation about our stuff--where it comes from, and where it ends up when we think we're done with it.

Climate Group member Rudy Ruggles said the presentation is part of the group's ongoing efforts to raise awareness and "embed new patterns for reducing, reusing and recycling." As such, the evening will start with a showing of The Story of Stuff, a short film described on its website as "one of the most watched environmental-themed online movies of all time."

Following the film, Bob Hoffman, Director of Weston's , will present a slide show that describes the current profile of Weston's waste and how it is processed.

Slides will center around household waste and recycling trends, data for which Hoffman said indicates "there's plenty that needs to be done."

Attendees "may see that we could recycle more," Hoffman said. "But how to do that is up to them. I'm just bringing the message."
