Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Area

Some places could see half a foot of snow on Saturday.

Some area residents had to dig out their shovels for the first time all season after Thursday night's snowfall. Now they may have to crank up the snowblowers.

Residents can expect the snowfall to begin after midnight tonight. The heaviest of the snow should be from mid-morning to early afternoon.

The storm should dissipate in the late afternoon or early evening.

Because of the recent cold snap, the snow is expected to accumulate quickly on the already frozen ground. Untreated surfaces will become slippery.

Wind from the northeast will be sustained from 10 to 15 mph, with gusts to 20 mph.

Visibility will diminish to 1/4 to 1/2 of a mile.

A winter weather advisory is issued when snow and/or ice is forecast to develop in the affected areas.
