Dragon Books to Shut Its Doors Saturday

The longtime fixture of Weston's town center will close forever on Saturday, Aug. 27.

A longtime mainstay of Weston's downtown is closing forever on Saturday, marking nearly 20 years in town.

announced last night on its Facebook page that it would be shutting down permanently on Saturday.

"It is with sadness that we close, but we are excited to see what the future has in store. We have greatly appreciated the support of our loyal customers," read the message.

James Southcott, who was working behind the counter on Thursday afternoon, said reactions from customers have been ones of sadness.

"By and large, people are upset," he said.

While the store is currently holding a 20 percent off all items sale, Southcott did not know if anything special was planned for the day of closing on Saturday.

He said he was not sure what was motivating owner Patience Sandroff to close.
