These restaurants have more than a few reasons to take the whole family there.

Friendly's has long been a staple for families, with a menu for seniors and kids, and plenty of appetizers to share. Sudbury teams always head to the ice cream both for celebration. Every night of the week and Sunday afternoon The Villa offers special family platters such as veal parmigiana, baked lasagna or the roast du jour. The Villa has been in town for decades, and the amiable wait staff add to the warm atmosphere. The portions are huge, the food is good - and for that, the prices are great.

This is a raw vegan restaurant, which at Prana Cafe means that the chocolate cake is so nutritous you and your kids could eat it for breakfast. That is what owners Taylor and Phillipe Wells and their five kids often do. The cake is made with coconut, cashews, and raw cocoa. What makes this restaurant family friendly is the playroom for kids - toys, children's movies, and the bathroom has a coat hook and stools for children, too.

Stephen Anthony's

999 Boston Post Road, Marlborough

Stephen Anthony's has breakfast food that entice people of all ages. Also on the menu are sandwiches and plenty of  side options, such as one or two eggs, toast, or one pancake, which accommodate all kinds of appetites. Kids can play with crayons and color the menus in, and, if there's a wait, the whole family can enjoy the lake and picnic benches around the property.
