This week I heard from a couple of people about Weston Media Center's coverage of town government so I wanted to share some information on that topic.
At Town Meeting in May, voters pretty overwhelmingly approved a $110,000 grant to support the work of the Media Center.
I supported it and think it's a great resource. But, to be clear, it is not a part of town government. Weston Media Center is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization with an Executive Director, Gloria Cole, and a board. The Board of Selectmen have no authority over Weston Media Center and do not direct how the grant funds are spent.
