Mailbag Q&A: Weston Media Center

This week I heard from a couple of people about Weston Media Center's coverage of town government so I wanted to share some information on that topic.

At Town Meeting in May, voters pretty overwhelmingly approved a $110,000 grant to support the work of the Media Center.

I supported it and think it's a great resource.  But, to be clear, it is not a part of town government.  Weston Media Center is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization with an Executive Director, Gloria Cole, and a board.  The Board of Selectmen have no authority over Weston Media Center and do not direct how the grant funds are spent.

The Weston Media Center has begun to make programming available on demand.  Right now it is also featuring Weston300 programming.  Check the listings at www.westonmedia.org or tune to channels 41+45 (Verizon) or 8+9 (Comcast).
