Five Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 20

Hanukkah starts today, last year's graduates at Weston High School, and more for your Tuesday.

1. Hanukkah starts today: Today is the first day of the Festival of Lights. Check Weston Patch later today for a list of area events that will celebrate the holiday.

2. Country School concert: Weston Schools' winter concerts continue with the Country School Winter Concert, with an 8:45 a.m. performance by second graders, third graders and the school's orchestra and a 10 a.m. performance by pre-schoolers, kindergarteners and first-graders.

3. The real world, sort of: The public is invited to attend a panel discussion of Weston High School's most graduates, who will share their insights on the college application and selection process and their experiences adjusting to college life. The panelists will speak at 9 a.m. at the school's media center.

4. Government: Meetings this evening include a Board of Appeals meeting at 7:15 p.m. and a Planning Board meeting at 7:30 p.m., both at Town Hall.

5. Outside: For today's weather, expect sunny skies with a high near 40 and a slight chance of snow showers after 2 a.m.
