There's a new grocery store option for Weston and today is the last day to nominate someone for a J. Ward Carter Civic Award.

1. Award Nomination Deadline. Today is the deadline to nominate someone for a J. Ward Carter Civic Award. Check out the criteria and nominate someone before it's too late.

2. New Grocery Option. Weston has a new place to buy groceries beginning today at 6 a.m. The Stop & Shop at Wayland Town Center opens today.

3. Traffic Changes. If you do head to the new Stop & Shop today, be aware that there are new traffic restrictions in place. Check out the new rules that are designed to protect nearby residents from cut-through traffic related to the new shopping destination.

5. National Adoption Day. Tomorrow, Nov. 17, is National Adoption Day. According to holidayinsights.com, the day was created "to finalize thousands of annual adoptions, and to celebrate and give recognition to families that adopt children. It is also intended to raise awareness of the tens of thousands of children awaiting adoption." If you have adopted a child, are in the process of doing so or are even considering it, today is a day that celebrates your efforts.
