5 Things: Selectmen Vote on the Old Library, School is Back, Moment of Silence

A few things you need to know on Monday, April 22, 2013, in Weston.

1. Meetings Today. The Board of Selectmen will talk upcoming town meeting procedures and anticipate a vote to declare the old library surplus. The Solar Photovoltaic Panels Exploratory Committee is scheduled to meet as well.

2. School's Back. Children will be at bus stops and on the sidewalks again today as the head back to class following April break. In preparation for that return, Weston administrators addressed how the schools will handle questions about the past week's events.

3. Earthquake Talk. The Weston Public Library is hosting Dr. Allan Kafka today from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for a talk about earthquakes.  He'll discuss the damaging effects of earthquakes, as the things "we can do to mitigate their effects, and hopefully make ourselves less vulnerable to the destructive power of earthquakes."
