Five Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 12

Last week for clothing drive, time drawing near for holiday letters for troops, and how many shopping days are left?

1. Meeting: The Agricultural Commission will meet at 7 p.m. at Weston Town Hall.

2. Clothing drive: This is the last week for the Cradles to Crayons winter clothing drive at Weston High School, so be sure to send your donations in by Friday, Dec. 16.

3. Holiday letters: Time is also of the essence for those interested in supporting WHS's effort to send a personal letter or card to soldiers in Afghanistan during the holidays. You can also send one of many items on a suggested list, including food, coffee, magazines and more.

4. Outside: Today should be a bit warmer than it was over the weekend, with sunny skies and high of 46 predicted.

5. Speaking of colder weather... getting any closer? There are 14 shopping days left until Christmas, which means those shipping deals popular with many are going to get a little harder to come by if you want your purchases by Christmas--so it would be best to order the rest of your online purchases this week.
