Five Things You Need to Know Today: Jan. 19

Meetings at Town Hall, potential for snow tonight, and chocolate at the library.

1. Chocolate: The Weston Library will hold a at 7 p.m., where participants will learn the basics of making chocolate covered cherries, peanut butter cups, and molded chocolates in assorted colors. This workshop is open to adults 18 and over and registration is required; please call the library or sign up at the Information Desk.

2. Music for kids: Also at the library, children ages 6 months to 3 years are invited to join guitarist and songwriter Jeannie Mack on the third Thursday of each month for at 10:30 a.m. For more information, contact the library's youth services department.

3. Government: Meetings today at Town Hall include the Public Transportation Advisory Committee at 7 p.m.; the Conservation Commission at 7:30 p.m.; and the Finance Committee at 7:30 p.m. Check the town website for agendas.

4. Forum for parents: WHS parents are invited to attend a forum on the WHS human sexuality curriculum at the high school media center from 8-9 a.m. Genevra Casais, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, will discuss the materials and content presented each spring to the freshman health and senior sociology classes.

5. Outside: Today should be mostly sunny with a high near 31 and the potential for snow after 10 p.m.
