Five Things You Need to Know Today: Jan. 27

Book fair at Field School, Haydn performance at Weston Congregational Church, and more to end your week.

1. Book fair: The Field School will hold its annual Kaiisi Book Fair to fund books and school supplies for their friends in Uganda. Most books will cost $.50 and students will have two opportunities to shop during the day. As well, the book fair will be open from 2-3 p.m. for parents with younger children to come and shop.

2. Scientists wanted: All Weston 10th-grade biology students design and carry out an independent research project and the PTO Science and Math Council is recruiting community members to help students clarify their experiments and research projects. Advisors will meet with students next week on Feb. 2 and 3 during regular class blocks. Advisors' backgrounds should be in science, research, medicine, or other health fields; volunteers can visit the Science Department website for more information.

3. Artist display: Weston artist is exhibiting pastel landscapes titled 'The Art of Place' at the Congregational Church of Weston, UCC, today until the end of March from 8 a.m.-12 p.m.

4. Haydn concert: Also at the Congregational Church of Weston, , a new period-instrument string quartet, will perform an all-Haydn program at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30.

5. Outside: Today should be rainy with a high near 50.
