Five Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 1

School's closed again today, and four more things for your Tuesday in Weston.

  1. In case you haven't heard already, school is closed again for today. Superintendent Cheryl Maloney said on the schools' website that "After consulting with the Police Chief and Fire Chief, I have decided that it is still not safe to run the bus routes." Maloney said they will consider modifying bus routes if all the schools have power by the end of the day tomorrow.
  2. Speaking of no school today, how are you occupying the kids? Let us know in the comments.
  3. Also closed today is the transfer station, as it does not have power.
  4. NStar is saying that more Weston residents are back and running with power. Are you still without power? Let us know in the comments or on our Facebook page.
  5. There are more events today at the library and Community Center, but we'd recommend holding off on those until the power status of the two buildings is known. On Monday, neither had power.
