Five Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 11

It's Veterans Day, and most municipal things are closed. Find out more for your long weekend in Weston.

  1. Today is Veterans Day, which means that Town Hall, the schools and the post office are all closed today. 
  2. And in honor of Veterans Day, , beginning at 10:55 a.m. at the Community Center.
  3. The Spellman Museum will have a , with children's author Willamarie Moore, Head of School Programs and Resources at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, who will talk about her two recent children’s books, "All About Japan" and "Japanese Traditions," at 10:30 a.m. There will also be activities for kids like origami crafts and special exhibit of Japanese stamps.
  4. Don't forget to vote tomorrow—Town Hall will be open for all voters from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the special town election to vote on funding for the Field School.
  5. And in weather today, it looks like it'll be a bit rainy in the morning and clearing up later in the day, with a high of 51. Saturday and Sunday both look to be sunny with highs in the mid-50s.
