Five Things You Need to Know Today: Oct. 31, Post-Snow Edition

No school today, and four more things for your post-October snowstorm Monday.

  1. School is not in session today for Weston schoolkids. Superintendent Cheryl Maloney sent around a message on Sunday evening saying the schools are unsure they can transport children safely because of downed wires, and because NStar is not confident that power will be back on today.
  2. The latest information from NStar, by the way, is from (edited Monday morning) midnight Monday. It says 70 percent, or 3,043 out of 4,268 customers, have no power; still no word on when it might be back.
  3. We hope you were able to use Weston Patch as a resource during and after the storm, with updates on the , Twitter and Facebook. Thanks to our new followers, as well, for information about power outages and closures. If you have any closures/outages you'd like to report, let us know in the comments section, or on Twitter and Facebook.
  4. Thankfully, though still a bit chilly, in the high 40s, the weather today is supposed to be sunny, with calm winds.
  5. And finally, what's going to happen with trick-or-treating tonight? Are you planning to still go out? Let us know in the poll below.
