Get Out!: Easter Egg Hunts and More, April 23-24

Easter and Earth Day activities are just a few things going on this weekend in the Weston area.

BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

1.

Where/When: Weston Town Green/Town Hall, 11 Townhouse Road, Weston, Saturday, April 23, 9 a.m.

Why Go: Easter Egg hunt for children of all ages, equipped with baskets. The egg hunt will be on the Town Green, or in case of bad weather, the Easter Egg Bunny will be in front of the Town Hall.

Where/When: The Acton Jazz Cafe, 452 Great Rd, Acton, Sunday, April 24, 4 to 7 p.m.

Why Go: Come to the Acton Jazz Cafe for the Sunset Jazz Jam.  In the sunset jam, participants can call the tunes, keys and tempos, after the opening house band set.  All ages are welcome

Pricing: $5 per person

3. SWINGIN' SUNDAYS DANCE LESSON AND LIVE BANDS

Where/When: Leominster Elks, Dance2Swing, 134 N Main St, Leominster, Sunday, April 24, 6:30 to 11 p.m.

Why Go: Group swing dance lessons start at 6:30 p.m. and are followed by live band performances at 7:30.  Singles and couples welcome.

Where/When: Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge, 680 Hudson Road, Sudbury, Sunday, April 24, 7 a.m.

Why Go: Friends of Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge, the Brookline Bird Club, and the South Shore Bird Club presents a birding and interpretive walk with Dave Lange. Mr. Lange will lead a walk of the trails of the Assabet River NWR. Meet at the Assabet River NWR Visitor Center parking lot at 680 Hudson Road in Sudbury.

5. EARTH DAY CELEBRATION AT GARDEN IN THE WOODS

Where/When: Garden in the Woods, 180 Hemenway Road, Framingham, Saturday, April 23, noon to 4 p.m.

Why Go: This event has activities where kids learn about unique realms of the natural world, such as compost tea, edible gardens and medicinal herbs. Also available will be a scavenger hunt and guided walking tours.

Pricing: Free admission and free parking.
