Get Out!: Things to Do in Weston This Weekend, April 30-May 1

Family time at the opera, spring fling on the town green and more are headed your way this weekend.

Where/When: Weston Town Hall, 11 Townhouse Road, Weston, Thursday through Sunday, April 28-30, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: The MetroWest Opera presents Jules Massenet's "Cendrillon," the classic story of Cinderella, sung in French with English supertitles.

Pricing: $25 per ticket for adults, $18 per ticket for students and seniors

Where/When: Wellesley Country Club, 300 Wellesley St., Wellesley, Saturday, April 28, 6:30 to 10 p.m.

Why Go:  One Hen, dedicated to empowering kids to be social entrepreneurs who make a difference for themselves and the world, teaches financial responsibility through books & interactive websites that enable real world microfinancing. Proceeds for the event will benefit the 2011 summer and after-school programs. The evening will include live music, a multicultural fair trade marketplace and a raffle. 

Pricing: $75 per person

Where/When: Weston Town Green, 11 Townhouse Road, Weston, Saturday, April 30, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Children in kindergarten through fourth grade will enjoy games, crafts, and music. Tickets for food and activities will be available for purchase  on the Town Green. Proceeds will benefit Habitat for  Humanity. 

Pricing: Free admission

Where/When: Newton Highlands Congregational Church, 54 Lincoln St., Newton, Sunday, May 1, 3:30 p.m

Why Go: As part of Boston Saengerfest Men’s Chorus education mission, BSMC will perform with young men from Brookline, Natick and Wellesley High School musical groups including Camerata Men from Brookline High School, Men of Style from Natick High School, and Men’s Choir from Wellesley High School. The afternoon will also feature Sound Investment, BSMC’s premiere a cappella group.

Pricing: Tickets are $20

Where/When: The Barn at the Josiah Smith Tavern, 358 Boston Post Road, Weston, Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday

Why Go: Come view an array of locally created fine arts and crafts.
