Why Go: The Performing Arts Connection presents the musical "13," featuring many young Sudbury residents. An enjoyable performance, suitable for middle school and up.
Pricing: Tickets $5 in advance and $6 at the door
Where/When: Weston Recreation Department, 20 Alphabet Lane, Weston, Saturday, Aug 20, 1 to 4 p.m.
Why Go: Learn how to make the most of your summer garden tomato and basil last throughout the year. Presenter Afton Cotton will lead a three-hour workshop in which participants will receive a step-by-step overview of canning using the boiling water bath method. There will be a hands-on session making tomato basil pasta sauce from local produce, and at the end you will take home a jar of your very own sauce.
Pricing: $25 for Land's Sake members, $35 for non-members

Why Go: This year's annual Doo Wop concert will feature The John Penny Band, The Reminisants, Gary Lewis and the Playboys and Shirley Alston Reeves. Refreshments will be on sale courtesy of the Waltham Lions Club, Lizzy's Ice Cream and Dunkin Donuts. Bring a chair and plan to dance the night away. In case of rain, the concert will be moved to Kennedy Middle School.
