Grab and Go Kids Planner: Sheep Festival and More

Grab your kids and check out these activities this week.

Family fun this week includes a museum grand opening, some live music, a great outdoorsy time featuring sheep shearing and a kid's fun run.

  • METROPOLITAN WATERWORKS MUSEUM GRAND OPENING

Where/When: Metropolitan WaterWorks Museum, 2450 Beacon St., Chestnut Hill, Thursday through Sunday, March 24-27, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy the grand opening event for this new discovery and learning museum devoted to the environmental, technological and historical aspects of the supply of clean water to metropolitan Boston from the founding of the city to the present.

  • BILL KELLY AND THE BLAH BLAH BLAHS

Where/When: Coolidge Corner Theater, 290 Harvard St., Brookline, Saturday, March 26, 10:30 a.m.

Why Go: Songs about milk, pine cones, springtime, 18-wheelers, the moon, and just about anything else you can think of. A fun, clever and silly morning of live music, recommended for ages 3+.

Pricing: $9.75 for adults and $7.75 for children

  • WOOLAPALOOZA FESTIVAL AT DRUMLIN FARM

Where/When: Drumlin Farm, South Great Road, Lincoln, Saturday, March 26, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: The festival highlights include Drumlin Farm’s new spring babies, sheep shearing and sheepherding demonstrations, hands-on activities for all ages, and all natural, locally grown and harvested Drumlin Farm food. Local fiber artisans will offer demonstrations and sell their handmade products.

Pricing: $8 for adult Mass Audubon members, $10 for adult nonmembers, $6 for children members, and $8 for children nonmembers; children under 2 are free.

  • WCCC FUN RUN AND FUN FAIR

Where/When: Wellesley Community Children's Center (WCCC), 106 Central St., Wellesley, Saturday, March 26, 9 a.m. to noon

Why Go: Races for children 3-12 years old from 9 a.m. to noon. Games, activities, food, races, raffle, silent auction, book sale, face painting for all ages. Admissions representatives from area independent schools will also be present. Proceeds benefit Wellesley Community Children’s Center’s early childhood and after school programs.

Pricing: Race entry fee: $6 in advance; $7 on race day; $3 for siblings
