Storm Updates: High School Available as Shelter; No School Monday

The latest news from the town—the high school is available as a shelter, but there will be no school on Monday.

6:20 p.m.: Town Manager Donna VanderClock has sent out another reverse-911 message:

Due to the high level of response we have already received for some place warm to be tonight, we will be opening the Weston High School at 7:30 p.m. If you need to warm up for awhile or would like to stay the night, you are welcome to go to the high school, which is located at 444 Wellesley St.

WBZ is also reporting that Weston schools are closed for tomorrow, Oct. 31.

6 p.m.: Town Manager Donna VanderClock has sent out another reverse-911 message:

This is Donna VanderClock, Weston Town Manager. At this time, we understand from NStar Electric that about 61% of Weston residents are without power. If you do not have power and need a warm place to stay tonight, please call the Fire Department at 781-893-2323.

11 a.m.: NStar reports that as of 8 a.m. today, 2,065 customers in Weston are without power, down from 2,668 at 5:30 a.m. 

9:30 a.m.: Town Manager Donna VanderClock has sent out a reverse-911 emergency message. She asked that people stay off the roads and that a street parking ban is now in effect. If you are without heat and need a place to go that is warm, she recommends calling the fire department at 781-786-6101 or the police department at 781-786-6201.

8:40 a.m.: NStar is reporting just over half of its Weston customers are currently without power. NStar asks that you call them to report any power outages at 800-592-2000.
