UPDATED: Severe Weather Warning Issued for Weston

Severe weather, including a tornado warning, is predicted for the area.

Updated 8:15 p.m.:

The National Weather Service has extended a tornado watch for Middlesex County until 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

Gov. Deval Patrick has also issued a state of emergency, due to tornadoes landing in Western Massachusetts.

The National Weather Service has issued several severe weather warnings for Weston, including one for flash floods and another for a tornado.

The tornado warning will expire at 6:30 p.m., according to the NWS.

The NWS reports at 5:41 p.m. it was tracking a tornado near Millbury, 11 miles south of Worcester, moving east at 35 miles per hour.

New England Cable News is reporting that the tornado has touched down in Springfield, causing some damage.

In addition to the tornado warning, the NWS is also advising residents to be prepared for severe thunderstorms, which could have large hail and damaging winds.
