Traffic Alert: Pike Tolls are Free for An Hour of Friday Evening Commute

Cumberland Farms is picking up the tab for some Mass Pike drivers, including those passing through the Weston toll plaza.

Good luck is coming days before St. Patrick's Day to Mass Pike drivers as Cumberland Farms and its SmartPay Check-Link program pick up the tolls from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. on Friday, March 15.

According to a press release Cumberland Farms, will pay tolls for drivers passing through the Allston/Brighton, Natick and Weston toll plazas between 5 and 6.

Cash customers must still stop at the plazas, but will not be charged. E-Z Pass holders will receive a credit on their monthly statement.

MassDOT recorded about 12,000 toll transactions at the sponsored plazas on the Friday before St. Patrick’s Day, the press release stated.

“Finding valuable ways to give back to our motorists is part of MassDOT’s commitment to customer service,” said Secretary Richard Davey. “We are pleased to partner with Cumberland Farms on this toll sponsorship.”

Cumberland Farms' SmartPay Check-Link program allows customers to pay for the gas and in-store purchases with their mobile phones or a card swipe. Aftern enrolling in the program, customers receive $.10 off each gallon of gas, every day.
