Here's a look at some of last week's top stories.
- In elections news, Weston resident Joe Mullin discusses his intention to run for the 3rd Middlesex District senate seat currently occupied by Susan Fargo, saying "the future is innovation."
- A Weston couple indicted earlier this month in connection with Section 8 public housing fraud and mortgage fraud was scheduled for arraignment last week, according to a statement from the Attorney General's office.
- In school news, Class of 2014 student volunteers helped host the Special Olympics basketball tournament last weekend and photographer Ken Barron was there to capture the moment.
- Barron also photographed the fourth annual "Jazz Under the Stars" event, at which some 100 students from four school jazz groups—the Weston Middle School jazz band, two Weston High School jazz bands, and the high school jazz choir—come together to perform.
- In other school news, Patch spoke with Grace Huckins, a 16-year-old Weston High School senior who won the prestigious Siemens award, the first Weston student ever to do so.
- In sports, Weston girl swimmers set two statewide records while the Wayland-Weston girls' hockey team earned a playoff berth.
- In local government, Weston selectman Michael Harrity updated progress on Case's Estates soil remediation discussions with Harvard University, while the Traffic and Sidewalk Committee held a meeting to further discuss the potential roundabout at Case's Corner.
