Weekend Happenings: Annual Parade, Boot Camp for One Fund, Spring Fling

Get In Shape for Women Boot Camp for One Fund
When/Where: Saturday, May 4, at 12:30 p.m. at the Weston Town Green, 400 Boston Post Road, Weston.
Why Go: Erin Denehy, a trainer at Get in Shape for Women, will lead participants in a 26.2-minute total body workout to commemorate the marathon and the bombing victims. The participant fee will be donated to One Fund Boston.
Price: $10

Future Fixers Invention Adventure
When/Where: Saturday, May 4 at 1 p.m. at the Weston Community Center, 20 Alphabet Lane, Weston.
Why Go: This workshop, led by Rudy Ruggles, is designed for middle schoolers who enjoy coming up with creative ways to solve tricky problems. In this case, the problem is that an invisible dog has gone missing and kids will tasked with finding him and returning him to his home.
Price: Free

Wayland Baseball & Softball Association Parade and Picnic
When/Where: Saturday, May 4, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The parade begins at Wayland Middle School and walks to Cochituate Ball Field.
Why Go: This annual parade brings baseball and softball fans, as well just the general public, to the streets of Wayland. The members of the teams walk in the parade and Wally the Green Monster makes an appearance. At the ballfield, games, a raffle and more will be part of the festivities.

Wayside Annual Fly Tye
When/Where: Sunday, May 5 at 10 a.m. at Longfellow's Wayside Inn, 72 Wayside Inn Road, Sudbury.
Why Go: Fly tyers from throughout the state will come together to demonstrate their craft, talk with enthusiasts and participate in a casting exhibition.
Price: Free

Acton Family Network's Spring Fling Party
When/Where:
Saturday, May 4, from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, 435 Central St., Acton.
Why Go: Welcome spring with this spring-themed party. Crafts and stories from Big Joe the Storyteller are part of the festivities. Light refreshments will also be served.
Price: AFN members free; non-members $3. Also, the Acton Police Department will be collecting donations of new stuffed animals to give to children involved in accidents.
