Beginnings School's Winter Festival
When/Where: March 2, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Beginnings School, 210 South Ave., Weston
The Buzz: Activities for kids and families include drumming with Rhythm Kids, gigantic bubbles, experimenting with ice ramps, petting exotic animals, enjoying an ice sculpting show, and more.

Wayland Winter Farmers' Market
When/Where: Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Russell's Garden Center, 397 Boston Post Road, Wayland
The Buzz: This week, the market is holding its first Farm Cheese Day, honoring dairy farmers from around the region. More than a half dozen dairy farmers will have cheeses and cheese products available for sale.

"The Gondoliers"
When/Where: March 1, 8 p.m.; March 2, 2 and 8 p.m.; Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, 390 Lincoln Road
The Buzz: The Sudbury Savoyards present Gilbert & Sullivan's The Gondoliers, with a full orchestra, large ensemble cast, singing and dancing, colorful costumes and sets, plus surprising twists and turns. 
Pricing: $24 for Adults, $18 for Seniors/Students, $12 for Children 12 and under

The Buzz: What animals are walking in your yard, neighborhood, or nearby woods? Learn to identify footprints and other signs animals leave. Also, sing songs, play games and touch and handle artifacts.

Ninth Annual Forum on Family Homelessness
When/Where: Sunday, March 3, 3 p.m.; First Parish in Concord, 20 Lexington Road, Concord
The Buzz: This year’s forum focuses on the effects of homelessness on the overall development of a child. The keynote speaker, Christina Murphy, from the Campaign to End Child Homelessness at the National Center on Family Homelessness, will speak on the effects of homelessness and severe housing insecurity on the health, mental health and early childhood development of children.

Dear Brother: The Life and Letters of Benjamin Franklin's Sister
When/Where: Saturday, March 2, 8 p.m.; Cary Memorial Building, 1605 Massachusetts Ave, Lexington
The Buzz: It's the final installment of the 2012-2013 Cary Lecture Series and, in honor of Lexington’s 300th anniversary, Jill Lepore will speak on Benjamin Franklin’s sister, who shares a birth year with our town and was a lively correspondent during the Revolution. Lepore’s most recent book, The Story of America: Essays on Origins, is this year’s Lexington Reads Community Book.
