Snowflake Affair

When/Where: Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Community United Methodist Church, 5 Damon St, Wayland.

Why Go: Eight rooms of treasures, bargains and gifts should put you in a holiday mood. Differently themed rooms, including a Collectibles Room, a Christmas Shop, a Boutique and a Bake Shop should keep you enchanted for a time. You can shop right through lunch with a quick stop at the cafe, which opens at 11:30 a.m.

Sudbury Interfaith Thanksgiving Worship

When/Where: Sunday at 4 p.m. at Presbyterian Church in Sudbury, 330 Concord Rd, Sudbury.

Why Go: The annual event brings together individuals of various faiths and generations for a cultural evening of music, readings and prayers in several languages and traditions. The theme this year is "Peace."

Price: Free, attendees are encouraged to give a donation in support of a peace-seeking organization.

Cabaret Night

When/Where: Friday at 7:30 p.m. at ABRHS Auditorium, 36 Charter Rd, Acton.

Why Go: The 17th annual event has a tradition of drawing a crowd. The choruses from Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. The evening will feature singing, dancing, comedy, magic and drama -- all performed by AB students.

Price: $10

Book Signing with Shaquille O'Neal

When/Where: Friday at 6 p.m. at Willow Books & Cafe, 279 Great Rd, Acton

Why Go: How many opportunities will you have to meet Shaq? O'Neal and author Jackie MacMullan will sign copies of the biography "Shaq Uncut." Purchase your book at Willow Books now and receive a number to have your book autographed Friday night, so you don't have to wait in line.

The Laramie Project

When/Where: Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Weston High School, 444 Wellesley St, Weston.

Why Go: The Weston High Theater Company is putting on a play ranked among the top 10 plays of the year by Time magazine. The docu-drama recounts material from hundreds of interviews and observations in the weeks and months following the 1998 hate crime murder of Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyo.

Price: $10; Seniors and military, $5.
