Weston300 Seeking Picnic Table Artists

Part of the year-long celebration involves creating one-of-a-kind picnic table art.

The Weston300 Committee is looking for special artists to create one-of-a-kind picnic tables commemorating the town's anniversary. The tables will be auctioned at the Weston 300 Festival on June 1.

According to an announcement, the committee wants each artist "to explore this important town milestone in his or her own way."

At the auction, the tables can be purchased for private use or donated for use by the town in locations such as along town trails or at the schools.

"The artist’s unique contribution to this important occasion will be documented and celebrated for generations to come," the announcement reads.

Several artists will be chosen to be featured in news articles and all artists will be featured in a special publication documenting the effort.

A workshop will be held at the Weston Public Library on Wednesday, March 6, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. At the workshop, artists will have a chance to ask questions and receive additional information.
