Blizzard of 2013 Cancellations, Postponements and Closings

We're keeping a running list of the businesses, events, meetings and more that the Blizzard of 2013 is impacting.

The cancellations and closings due to the Blizzard of 2013 started coming in well over 24 hours before the worst of the storm was expected to strike.

We're keeping a running list of the changes we've heard about. If you know of a closing, postponement or cancellations, PLEASE add it in the comments below. We'll need everyone pitching in to keep this list as informative and helpful as possible.

MBTA/Transportation:

  • Gov. Deval Patrick has lifted the travel ban, effective at 4 p.m. Saturday.
  • All MBTA service (buses, T and Commuter Rail) will be suspended as of 3:30 p.m. Friday. Will NOT be running Saturday.

Events:

  • Weston300 Movie Night - Postponed. New date TBD. 
  • 6th and 7th grade Recreation Night - Postponed. New date TBD.
  • Weston Open Swim on Saturday, Feb. 8 - Canceled
  • Lego Avengers Class - Canceled. Participants will be notified when a new date is set.

Schools:

  • Weston Public Schools will be closed Friday, Feb. 8. All weekend school ativities are canceled EXCEPT "we are anticipating that the 7 p.m. Sunday performance of "Aladdin" will take place."
  • Saturday School - Canceled. Students assigned to attend should plan to attend on March 2. 
  • All Friday afternoon and evening extracurricular activities for Weston Public Schools - Canceled. No late buses will be running.
  • Saturday and Sunday extracurricular activities have been postponed or rescheduled. Here are the details.
  • Country School Valentine's Day Dance - Canceled and will not be rescheduled.

Government:

  • Massachusetts courthouses and offices will close at 3 p.m. All first-day jurors scheduled for Springfield, Woburn, Somerville, Boston and Worcester are canceled.
  • Weston Public Library - Closed Friday and Saturday
