EXCITING, NEW WAYSIDE THEATRE COMPANY BRINGS HIGH QUALITY MUSICAL THEATER TO BOSTON’S METROWEST COMMUNITIES
Inaugural Show - Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

November, 2012, Sudbury MA. - The executive board of the Wayside Theatre Company (WTC) is thrilled to announce its first production, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. A 501c(3) organization, the group’s mission is to promote and expand the love of theatre drawing from MetroWest communities. Wayside Theatre Company’s vision is to make high-quality theater an experience that is available to everyone in the community either through active participation or attendance. Working with both seasoned professionals and amateurs, Wayside Theatre Company focuses on producing musical productions that leave participants entertained and inspired.

Some may ask why launch a new community theater now? Our experience tells us that there is no lack of desire to participate in theater and plenty of talent to go around in MetroWest. It provides a clear path to connecting with one another in an ever more disconnected world. Children in theater learn teamwork, creative expression and about presenting themselves in new ways. They also gain confidence as they learn life long skills for presenting themselves to others in both professional and personal situations. Adults, who are ever more strapped for time, can enjoy this outlet to reconnect with themselves, their own creativity and enjoyment - all while connecting with others in a meaningful, fun way.

The four founders of the group are: Nancy Bergstein, President & Artistic Director, Scott Cohen, Vice President. Jamie Levy, Treasurer and, Carole Ann Baer, Secretary & Choreographer. Each has extensive backgrounds in all aspects of the theater production.

“Having been part of musical productions in MetroWest for the past 18 years has convinced me that there is no shortage of people who desire to participate in high quality, musical productions,” said Bergstein. “Our hope is that our venture will provide a cultural legacy that will encourage many people to enjoy all of the gifts that theater arts provides.”
