Weston resident to star in Broadway classic "CABARET"

Moonstruck Theater Company is pleased to present the Tony award-winning CABARET, opening Friday, July 19, and running for four performances through July 21. Performances take place at West Boylston Junior-Senior High School, 125 Crescent St., West Boylston, MA.

Take your seat at the Kit Kat Klub, the perfectly marvelous cabaret, where singer Sally Bowles meets writer Cliff Bradshaw. As the two pursue a life of pleasure in Weimar Berlin, the world outside the Klub begins to splinter. Sally and Cliff are faced with a choice: abandon themselves to the pleasures promised by the cabaret, or open their eyes and face the coming storm. Immortalized on film by Liza Minelli and Joel Grey, with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and a book by Joe Masteroff, CABARET is a theatrical experience like few others.

The production features Lali Haines, of Weston, as Frenchie, one of the female dancers at the infamous Kit Kat Klub. This is Lali’s third production with Moonstruck Theater Company, having previously played Ms. Bell in “Fame – The Musical,” and Josephine ‘Ma’ Strong in “Urinetown: The Musical.” “I wanted to work with the excellent production staff again,” says Lali, “I like how the show handles difficult adult themes, without trying to resolve but instead to ask more questions.” She returned to the stage 4 years ago, and her favorite roles include Erzulie in “Once on this Island” and Jack’s Mother in “Into The Woods.” Lali works at Boston Children's Hospital, attending in pediatric and adolescent gynecology, and also teaches hot yoga at a studio at Spirit Bear Power Yoga in Natick.
